Our Editorial Policy

Recovery & Substance Use Disorder Resources You Can Trust

What Is An Editorial Policy?

An editorial policy is a standard or framework that provides a guideline for creating resources. With this policy we are ensuring our resources maintain a high level of quality, integrity, and consistency.

This policy gives our contributors and content creators a measuring stick that informs how they create resources to ensure they meet this standard. It is also valuable to readers and clients who are looking for an easy way to see and understand our mission, values, and philosophy for treatment.

Our Editorial Policy

The following are the three “Qs” of our editorial policy:

  • Qualified Contributors: All materials created and curated by Engage Wellness must be from experienced, qualified, and skilled professionals or subject matter experts who can accurately and effectively communicate complex matters.

  • Quality Materials: The purpose of educational resources is to provide guidance, help, and clarity to complex issues. To serve our community effectively, all resources and materials must be well-written, organized, and clear.

  • Quality Control: All resources must be created or reviewed by subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and clarity and confirm that they meet all editorial standards. Materials must undergo editing and review processes as a safeguard against harm. Materials also periodically undergo additional review to ensure up to date information is being provided to readers and any outdated information is removed.
